Rossini Paul Mary

Specialist in Neurology and Director of the Department of Neuroscience and Neurorehabilitation IRCCS San Raffaele.

Prof. Rossini’s main interests are in the field of neurophysiological techniques applied to the study of the functions of the human central nervous system, as well as for the early diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases, particularly dementia and pathological brain aging. He pioneered the field of advanced methods for the analysis of EEG, Evoked Potentials and noninvasive transcranial electromagnetic stimulation. Coordinates several multicenter studies addressing comparative analysis of neurophysiological findings with other ‘biomarkers’ for early identification of MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment) condition prodromal to dementia.

.

A centralized Neurophysiopathology service for the diagnosis of diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system is operational at IRCCS San Raffaele, providing the following services:

  • Traditional EEG
  • Somatosensory evoked potential upper limb and lower limb
  • Motor evoked potential by transcranial magnetic stimulation
  • Electromyography
  • Reflections (Blink, H reflection etc.)
  • Battery neuropsychological tests for cognitive decline
