Salvatore Matteo

Dr. Matteo Salvatore is an orthopedist at St. Raphael Termini Outpatient Clinic.

Graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2000 with 110 cum laude, he then specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2005 with highest honors at the University of Rome “La Sapienza.” From 2005 to 2014, he worked at La Clinica Villa Valeria, a single-specialty orthopedic referral facility in arthroscopic and prosthetic shoulder and knee surgery, where he performed an average of more than 200 surgeries per year as a first operator.

In 2009 he went to Zurich at Balgrist University Hospital, directed by Prof C. Gerber, a European pole of excellence in Shoulder surgery.Physician in the 2011 and 2012 seasons of the Italian Women’s Senior National Volleyball Team. In 2011 and 2015 he refined his knowledge in arthroscopic shoulder surgery in Annecy, France, from Dr. L. Lafosse.

In 2011 winner of Smith&Nephew Scolarship Program in Arthroscopic Knee Surgery at Hopitaux Universitaires de Geneve, Switzerland (Dir. of Prof. Daniel Fritschy), 2012 winner of DePuy Mentorship Program (Johnson&Johnson), internship at 4 Italian referral centers (Milan, Brescia, Monza, Messina) and finally winner of ESSKA Knee Replacement Fellowship in 2013 with which he attended the same year at Helios Endo Klinik in Hamburg (Resp. Prof. G. Thorsten), a world center of excellence in hip and knee revision prosthetic surgery.
