Stocchi Fabrizio

Prof. Fabrizio Stocchi specialized in Neurology in 1987 and received his doctorate in Neurobiology in 1992. During these years he began his research career in the field of neurodegenerative diseases under the guidance of Prof. Agnoli, first in L’Aquila and then in Rome, and Prof. C.D. Marsden in London. In his career he has been involved in neuropharmacology and has participated in the development of most of the drugs used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. He has been a full professor of Neurology since 2015, and the research group he leads at San Raffaele is among the most prominent internationally for developing innovative therapies in the field of parkinsonism. He has authored about 400 scientific publications, edited books and served on the faculty of the most prestigious international congresses.

In addition, he is a member of the Movement Disorders Society (in which he is Cochairman of the Educational Commettee) and the European Federation of Neurological Societies, a member of the Commettee (International Faculty) of AD/PD; he is on the editorial board and refery of international journals dealing with movement disorders. He has been a member of the “Multidisciplinary Expert Review Panel” of the European Parkinson’s disease Association (EPDA) since 2014. “Core member” of the international EUROPAR project (as part of the Parkinson’s Disease Non Motor Group (PDNMG). Member of the Scientific Committee of the non-profit Parkinson Action Association, a national association of Parkinson’s patients and their families.
