The Rehabilitation Bioengineering Laboratory at IRCCS San Raffaele conducts outstanding research in the field of neuroscience, within the paradigm around the concepts of: assessment, recovery and functional replacement. The research carried out by the laboratory is aimed at the implementation and efficacy evaluation of innovative high-tech therapies (robotics, virtual reality, telerehabilitation), the understanding of central and peripheral neurological mechanisms, the creation of protocols for multi-domain acquisition and analysis of the patient’s biomechanical and electrophysiological characteristics through advanced algorithms and Artificial Intelligence tools, to the design of new sensorized devices for understanding the cortical, muscular and behavioral correlates of rehabilitative gesture, to the conception, implementation and validation of new models for instrumental assessment in clinical settings.
