Two positions are available for highly motivated young postdoc/young researcher with a bachelor’s degree in biology or related degrees to conduct research in molecular biology and biochemistry applied to neuroscience in the Immunopathology Laboratory of IRCCS San Raffaele, Rome.
The research project aims to elucidate the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neuroinflammatory and neurotoxic processes in neurodegenerative diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, in order to identify new biomarkers and/or therapeutic targets and to develop new pharmacological approaches based on the use of nanoparticles For an initial post-doc position, people who have done an experimental dissertation and/or with documented experience in multiple laboratory techniques applied to preclinical and clinical research, in particular molecular biology (real time PCR analysis for mRNA and microRNA) and biochemistry (Western blot; ELISA immunoassay, Luminex technology) . In addition, since murine models are to be used, experience or at least willingness to work with animal models is required.
For a second post-doc position, expertise and background in the study of interactions between cells of the brain compartment including neurons, astrocytes, glia with natural (exosomes) and synthetic (liposomes and other nanoparticles) nanovesicles is preferred. Expertise in studying the functioning of the blood-brain barrier and its crossing by cells and nanostructures.
Winners will be insured against occupational accidents in accordance with the provisions contained in Presidential Decree No. 1124 of June 30, 1965, with INAIL, without prejudice to the provisions of Law No. 1659 of December 29, 1941.
