Medicine – Monte Compatri

TheOperating Unit of Medicine, accredited with the Regional Health System, operates within the Department of Internal, Motor and Sensory Sciences and is oriented toward the diagnosis and treatment of acute diseases.

It has ordinary inpatient beds, with continuous electrocardiographic monitoring available.

Inpatient access to the Medical Operating Unit comes from the Territory Emergency and Acceptance Departments, Rehabilitation Operating Units and Home.

Patients who are discharged, may return to their homes or be assigned to another health care setting (Motor/Respiratory/Cardiology Rehabilitation, Hospice).

The average stay in the Ward is seven days.

Patients mainly suffering from the following diseases are cared for: cardiovascular, neurological, respiratory, gastroenterological, and immuno-rheumatological.

The outpatient activity of the Division of Medicine, in addition to the follow-up of discharged patients, is open to the territory with special interest in internist pathology – gastroenterology and rheumatology.
