Microstructures – Viterbo

La Microstructure, accredited with the Regional Health System, is a social welfare residential facility that houses people with different characteristics, lacking a suitable family environment, in order to ensure a living environment characterized by a climate of affective availability with individualized relationships to ensure affective development and maturation, education, maintenance, care, and participation in the living conditions of the social environment.

Microstructures have been started since 1983 as an essential step in the rehabilitation path for the de-institutionalization of users, who within these realities carry out activities aimed at the recovery of autonomy and personal hygiene management.

Organization

Microstructures, in fact, are true family-type residential communities and are organized like normal homes in which specialized operators coordinate the activities and lives of the people in them and cooperate in running the home (cooking, making beds, washing, ironing, etc.).
