Hospitalization at theLong Term Care Unit, accredited with the National Health System, is for those users who, once the acute phase is over, need prolonged treatment in a hospital setting because the after-effects of the underlying pathology do not allow immediate return to the home setting.

The diseases that most require the continuation of rehabilitation treatment are diseases of the nervous system and their complications: Alzheimer’s disease, multi-infarct encephalopathy, senile degeneration of the encephalon, sequelae of cerebral stroke, paraplegia, quadriplegia, Parkinson’s disease but also chronic respiratory failure, severe nutrition disorders, walking deficits of various origins, post-comatose patients with severe disorders of consciousness.
