Resources available to users

Users may stay in the library to consult printed and/or electronic manuals and periodicals, conduct bibliographic research, query databases, and, more generally, take advantage of all other services provided by the library.

The library provides its users with tools and resources such as “traditional” databases for bibliographic reference retrieval, image databases, and services that work to support scientific evaluation and clinical decision-making:

  • PubMed via Bibliosan (Through this interface it is possible to query PubMed and link with the system for fulltext retrieval of scientific articles set up by BIBLIOSAN. After performing a literature search in PubMed and coming to the page with the data for the article of interest, a “FIND FULL TEXT by BIBLIOSAN” button appears. A Click on this button allows you to retrieve the full text of the article of interest (when access rights allow)
  • Proquest Databases (Coronavirus Research Database; Biological Science Database; British Nursing Database; Health Research Premium collection; PIVOT – “Connecting funding and Research Expertise”)
  • Essential Science Indicators
  • InCites Benchmarking & Analytics
  • Scopus
  • Journal Citation Reports (impact factors from 1997 to the present of journals surveyed by both the Science Citation Index and the Social Science Citation Index are available)
  • Web of Science (the following databases are searchable, with coverage over the past 20 years: Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Science Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index).
  • BMJ BESTPRACTICE and MARTINDALE.
  • Cochrane Library
  • EMBASE: Europe’s largest database of scientific bibliography addressed to pharmacology and medical sciences in general.
  • Faculty Opinions (formerly Faculty 1000 until 2019): Bibliographic database where leading biomedical experts help scientists discover, discuss, and publish research
  • BROWZINE: how to see in a single interface the list of journals subscribed centrally by BIBLIOSAN, also grouped by disciplines and subdisciplines. Each user can customize his or her Browzine to display only the journals that interest him or her, save articles to read in a personal area as well as receive alerts via e-mail (or via app) about new articles published there.
  • IO: Retrieve full text of scientific article by DOI or PMID

Also available are:

  • More than 1,000 print volumes from the clinical, rehabilitation and research fields
  • Tools for electronic bibliographic citation management (RefWorks, EndNote Web, Sciwheel)

Resources can be accessed remotely, either within the company’s network computers or from home with prior authorization.
