The Parkinson’s, Parkinsonisms and Movement Disorders Center cares for patients with Parkinson’s disease and Parkinsonisms. Multidisciplinary care and specific clinical expertise is provided in order to carry out proper management of the disease especially in its more advanced stages, when conventional drug therapy can no longer guarantee an acceptable quality of life.
The Center is part of the Parkinson’s network of San Raffaele facilities and is in direct connection with other specialized national and international centers with which research protocols in rehabilitation are carried out. He is also able to select and manage complicated stage patients who need unconventional therapies (subcutaneous infusion therapies, intradigiunals).
Particularly active is translational research, which finds one of its fundamental pillars in drug trials. Research in the clinical setting aims to identify and verify the impairment of other organs and apparatuses in the course of disease and to implement guidelines through clinical trials aimed at validating rehabilitation protocols, agreed upon with scientific societies.
